Janice L Mitchell

Janice L Mitchell, 62 was born on September 24, 1958 to Prince Lee Cody and Ervin Brinson.  Janice married Maurice Mitchell on February 1, 1977. Janice six sons are Kevin Mitchell, Jerome Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Darnell Mitchell and Lionel Mitchell.  Her eldest son Maurice Mitchell transitioned to heaven on January 16, 2020.  Janice gained her wings on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Janice went to Asbury Park High School and had a family-owned business in Neptune NJ.  Janice and Maurice lived in Brielle, Elizabeth and Lincroft NJ during their marriage, and she came back home to Neptune NJ where she was currently residing.  Janice also attended St Stephens AME Zion Church in Asbury Park NJ.  
Janice had an infectious smile and was always willing to help others in need.  Janice loved God and enjoyed being around her family and friends.  Janice also overcame many challenges through prayer and her faith in God.  
Janice was predeceased by her parents, Ervin and Prince, two brothers Ralph Birley and Irwin Brinson, two sisters Dianna Miller and Charlene Shannon and her Maternal Grandparents Ralph and Leola Cody
She leaves to mourn her ex-husband Maurice Mitchell and her loving children Jerome Mitchell Toms River NJ, Michael Mitchell, Lionel Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell and Darnell Mitchell, whom all live in Virginia; one sister Patricia Cody Farmingdale NJ; four brothers Lamont Brinson and Craig Brinson Neptune NJ, Ronald Brinson Brick Township NJ and Keith Brinson Tinton Falls NJ; two sister in laws April Brinson and Shereise Brinson and extended family member Kerri Dickerson;  four Grandchildren Shaniyah Mitchell, Kevone Mitchell, Na’Sharnia Mitchell, Londyn Mitchell, Isaac Mitchell,  and a host of nieces and nephews.   We would also like to acknowledge her caregiver and niece Tyisha Cope.
