Deanna Mae (Dina or Mopsy) Summerlin Valentine departed this life peacefully on March 14, 2021. Dina was born to the late Willie (SW) Summerlin and Thelma Summerlin Warrington on October 6th, 1945. She was born in Neptune, NJ, where she attended Ridge Avenue School. As a teen, she was educated at PS 136 and Andrew Jackson High School in Jamaica, Queens, NY. Dina was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, St Vincent de Paul of St. Peter Claver. She served as den leader of pack 46, an assistant coach for Neptune Pop Warner Baton Twirlers, and hosted the Fresh Air Fun Program. She loved playing baseball and riding bikes. She worked as a home health aid and an electronic assembly technician. Dina was married to the late Charles Ray Valentine, of North Carolina.
She now follows her deceased loved ones, her son Warren E. M. Summerlin, her parents Mr. Willie & Thelma Summerlin, her grandparents Mr. Flaxie & Annie Summerlin and Mr. Dan & Tamma Warrington, six brothers, Ronald (Pop), Lester (Tiny), Paul (Little Paul), William (Junie Boy), Daris, and Wayne, and her recently departed sister, Nadra Camille Dixon. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Dina (Tom) Harris of Ocean, and Nina Summerlin or Asbury Park, grandsons Justin (Kyra) Hayward, Thomas Harris II, Rahmel (Ishjah) Summerlin, and Jacquel Summerlin, one granddaughter Danielle Marie (Julian) Harris-Wright, great-grandsons Jayden, Jace, Urijah, and Hezekiah, and two beloved great-granddaughters Tamara and Phoenix. She also leaves a very good friend Lonnie Cohen, Susan, Sharon, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
